Just call me Martha!

So for those of you who have been to my home, know that most the items are either hammy downs or thrift store or used items that i have spiffed up myself.

Well the most recent item i have collected was a coffee table my neighbor down the street had in their front yard, that said "Free Take Me"

OK! so it was a very solid sturdy oak table that just had some wood warping on the top of it. well I dont have a coffee table just a chest in my front room as a coffee table and i want something new. Time for a change, and its getting a little beat up from Sean putting his feet on it.

So i had a great idea that i wanted to apply to my kitchen table, but its too large and after a few months i would be sick and tired of whatever i would do to it anyways. I may as well start with a smaller project like the CF(coffee table) im gettting tired of spelling coffee table.

So I wasnt really 100% sure the surface would turn out the way I wanted but, believe me there was no way i was keeping the table as is.

SO i stained the bottom half, with stain left over from my hope chest. i cant stand light wood,i really prefer mahogony or just dark wood.

Then i modge podged the top with wallpaper that I had gotten from some discontinued catalogs.

Yeah I am proud, cuz it didnt cost me one single penny to fix it up!

And my friend Daniel said, "You should start your own show on DIY"

yeah he's funny, and he is so right, but i like just puttering for fun.

Yeah and i also did the exact same thing to my new printer desk too. It also was free, i just havent taken any pictures of it yet. I will though.

What do you think?

Very cute! I love making stuff, there's just something about putting your personal touch on it - well, when it works out anyway. :) The table turned out really well.
